Tying instructions: Catch the thread at the hook's eye. Wind thread onto hook back to the mid point of the bend. Tie on the swannundaze & bring thread to the front of the hook. Tie the swannundaze on laying on the top of the hook the entire length of the body. This helps prevent having a big lump where the swannundaze is tied down making for a more even body. Next wrap the swannundaze down in tight even turns to create the segmented look .Now tie in the peacock herl and wrap it around the thread as shown (similar to Don's rope-a-dub) creating a sort of peacock hurl chenille. This will really help with the durability of the fly. Tie down the peacock hurl being careful not to cover the eye of the hook & give it a little spot of head cement. Bill has a nice description on his page. | |
