Tying instructions:
I use a std dry fly hook, around a #24. I then wrap the shank with a real cheap
Indian Neck little itty bitty teeny black hackle, and then cut off the barbs
from the top. I then apply some " Puff Paint " that you can get at most craft
stores. After the paint drys ( usually over night ), I put them in the oven
for about 30 seconds, until they "puff ". After they cool down I take a
toothpick and cut off the tip so that I have a flat end to dip into a jar of
Testors hobby paint and dap on the spots. In this instance I used a black
glass bead head, but you can simple use a built up amount of tying thread to
form the head.
Another way to make the flys' legs is to tie on a bed of Peacock herl instead
of the black hackle feather. |
