Furled Tail Leech

Pattern:

Hook: size 10
Bead: black bead head, 1.5 mm size
Thread: Black
Body: black mohair yarn


Steps to tie the leech:

  1. Place hok with beadhead in vice and tie the end of the yarn in.
  2. Wrap yarn to the end of the shank.
  3. Twist the yarn to furl it.
  4. Fold yarn and tie it in at the end of the shank with three wraps of thread.
  5. Fold yarn back over tail and make two soft wraps.
  6. Wrap the yarn fairly loosely up the shank and tie off. whip Finish
  7. Use some velcro on a stick to pull at the yarn and make it look buggier.
