Shell: | Devcon 5-minute epoxy |
The fly is kind of a pain in the butt to tie, but its a neat fly once its all said and done. First of all, tie on with the monofilament while keeping the body as even as possible. Add in the antenna, about 8 inches of thread for the rib and the burned monofilament eyes. Loop small pieces of the ginger Z-lon over the clear mono so they're attached underneath the body of the fly (I believe I used 7 or 8 of these sections of Z-lon for the swap, but its been a couple of months so I'm not entirely certain). Counterwrap the piece of thread for the rib, weaving it between the Z-lon legs. Finally, add the 5 minute epoxy (while being extra careful to keep capillary action in the legs from sucking the epoxy up and making the fly unfishable) and once its dried, trim the Z-lon to an appropriate length. |
