The fly has a story. First of all I have to admit that the fly has 3 fathers: Bryan, myself and Martin Westbeek - even when Mart will not remember. I met him during the swap and talked with him about the concept of this swap. I said that he would tie a combination of two well known pattern and suggested a 'Egg Sucking Adams' as combination of an Adams and a egg sucking leech. Later, when the butts arrived I played some time around how to complete them At this moment they didn'd had the rubber legs. I was thinging about a white hackle and do some of a traditional streamer. But Mart's idea poped up again. And Bryan left some space on his fly - enough space to tie a full pattern. And suddenly I had the idea: Tie two worlds - one terrestrial insect ( a hopper), one aquatic insect ( a caddis), one made from modern material (the hopper, mainly from synthetics) and the caddis( made from traditional materials). And I was sur they had to fall in love. therefore I tied them oppsite direction - kissing each other. Probably new and old world. |
