Keith's PTN - Swap 2001

Swapmeister: Keith Passant
Start: August 2001

OK and well. My kind swapmeister was so friendly to write some words for the swap. Keith, thanks for the swap and thanks for your words about my fly...
Keith speaking:
This swap was as a result of a few comments made by listers on VFB. In particular a certain young lady by the name of Heidi Hess wanted to join a PTN swap late in 2001. After a small ammount of coersion between myself and Ian Mitchell (aka Bruce) I decided to run the swap for distribution in November 2001. What a fantastic decision. I would think we could all come up with the perfect Sawyers PTN (Rene Zillmann DID !) but the eventual range of "PTN" variations was outstanding. From first time swappers to seasoned pros everyone did a magnificent job. What was interesting was the size variations. The PTN as used in the UK is usually a large fly whereas the US and Canada tied them small. This is probably due to the difference in the fly being used on stillwaters versus rivers. They will all catch fish wherever they may be used. So come on in and have a look at 21 of the FINEST Pheasant Tail Nymphs tied and marvell at the variations. Congratulations to everyone that tied for this swap. These flies and patterns deserve to be made public and where better than on this site. Thanks for posting them Rene.
Keith Passant.
